Training
The National Bereavement Partnership specialises in training events on the issues bereaved people face when a loved one dies and specifically when a post mortem is to be performed, either consented to or required by law.
Many of our training events are funded by the Department of Health and attended by healthcare professionals, including Bereavement Officers, Patient Advice and Liaison Officers (PALS), Anatomical Pathology Technologists, Mortuary Technicians, Biomedical Scientists, Chaplains, Histopathologists, Midwives, Nurses, Doctors, and HM Coroner’s and Coroner’s Officers, the Police, and many more.
Our training events are informed by listening to the needs of bereaved people, families and friends who contact our helpline.
To ensure our high standards of training are maintained, each delegate is asked to complete an evaluation form. The forms allow each delegate to score the person(s) who made presentations but more importantly, to feedback on what was or wasn’t useful, what they felt was missing and how they would like to change the day, as well as informing us if attending was beneficial to them, thus allowing us to continually assess if we are meeting the needs of those attending.
The majority of our training events are accredited for Continuing Professional Development by the Royal College of Pathologists. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a requirement for many healthcare professionals.
Evaluation of previous training events
